W SQ1 z czasówki odpali między innymi Lewis Hamilton i Andrea Kimi Antonelli, a w SQ2 wyeliminowani zostali chociażby George Russell czy Yuki Tsunoda. Oscar Piastri wywalczył pole position z przewagą 0,477 sekundy.
Aż w siedmiu przypadkach górą w wewnątrzzespołowych pojedynkach był dotychczas lepszy kierowca. W przypadku Saubera i Haasa przed kwalifikacjami kierowcy szli po równo, a jedynym zawodnikiem, który pokonał partnera z ekipy, mając mniej wygranych starć, okazał się Carlos Sainz.
